Family Guard Dogs are not supposed to bite a member of the family they are supposed to be protecting, however in an incident that took place in Weld County, that actually happened as two-year-old Damien Winter was bitten in the face by the family’s dog, and is now in hospital.

The dog in question is a Rottweiler/ Chow mix, and this is not the first incident involving the dog that has resulted in the authorities being called:
“This is a second bite,” said Margie Martinez, spokeswoman for Weld County Sheriff’s office.

Due to the fact that this is not the first incident involving the same family and the same dog, the family maybe facing charges of being in posession of a dangerous dog, bringing a possible fine or even jail time.

The Dog has been taken to the Humane Society where it will remain in quarantine for a ten day period.
