We all feel strongly about our dogs & ensuring that they are safe and sound, in good health and happy can be exceptionally fundamental. It is especially hard to avoid providing your pet whatever we are eating when we see them watching us and begging for a small (or big) bite. Alas, many of these meals we are big fans of are potentially especially unhealthy in regards to a canine’s health. Most of our furry buddies are quite the hog & eat just about everything they put in their mouth. They also possess an excellent sense of smell, so it’s not as easy as just finding a hiding place for spare snacks.

The most deadly food for your dog is chocolate. Evidence has shown that chocolate has antioxidants that promote good health in the human body humans but can do major damage to canines. Chocolate is also bad for cats but they don’t care for the taste of it, so it poses less risk to them. Alas, several dogs have a sweet tooth.

Theobromine, a chemical contained in chocolate, serves as a diuretic & stimulant. The most harmful variations are cocoa powder, cooking chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, & dark chocolate. The least harmful may be milk chocolate. A poisoned dog may show symptoms of being hyperactive, excited, thirsty, and start peeing all the time. It will cause the dogs heart beat irregularly or increase the dog’s heart rate. These symptoms could not appear for a good number of hours. Without getting quick treatment, seizures, cardiac failure, coma or even death may result. There are a few breeds of dogs less prone to chocolate but never give your dog chocolate by choice. For sale are carob treats for pets that can be completely secure but smell and taste like chocolate.

Thiosulfate, found in onions and not affected by food processing or cooking, leads to hemolytic anemia in both cats and dogs. A small bit occasionally isn’t often a crisis however perpetual exposure could be. There are episodes at which small puppies which ate baby food with onion powder have died. Never feed dogs baby food.

Here are other foods that may be risky to a good deal of dogs:

Coffee – Harmful effects will be increased heart rate, diarrhea, vomiting, coma or death

A few Mushroom Types – When taking your dog for a walk be careful if there are wild mushrooms that your dog can eat. Chosen types can lead to abdominal pain, kidney and liver damage, diarrhea, vomiting or even convulsions and death.

Anti Freeze – Unfortunately, for some rationale dogs feel strongly about anti freeze. It shuts down their kidneys and often causes death. Make sure you secure your anti freeze in a place where pets don’t have entrance to it.

Mistletoe – Mistletoe is good for making us kiss but when it comes to pets & cats, it makes them vomit. Dogs could also have depression and abdominal pain so keep it out of reach of your pets.

Moth Balls – Naphthalene is toxic to dogs. Found in mothballs, it is capable of instigating vomiting, seizures, diarrhea and anemia.

Never make the assumption that because a food is safe for us to eat, it is safe for your dog to eat too.
