Beware with poisonous frog because this frog can make your dog got problem, In Florida’s east coast population a poisonous from has been growing on . If your pet comes into contact with one of the frogs – it could be fatal, this why numbers have veterinarians and pet owners worried about this problem.
Like this story from Emily Thoemke that let her two dogs out right before going to work. Only this time, one of the dogs came back with something wrong. It turned out her dog Bailey took a bite out of a Bufo toad which secretes a milky and highly toxic substance when it feels threatened and It didn’t take long for the West Highland White Terrier to feel the effects, the vet who tried to save Thoemke’s dog says she sees several similar cases every month.
“It’s potentially life threatening, so they can actually be dead with an hour,” said Dr. Anne Lozynski.

Dr. Lozynski says smaller pets are more susceptible to the toxic toads which can make their home right in your yard.

“It’s very urgent. They need to be treated right away,” said Lozynski.

Thoemke hopes the lesson she learned can help save other Southwest Florida pets.
Lozynski says if this happens to your pet, the first thing you’ll see is foaming at the mouth. At that point you should immediately wash your pet’s mouth out with water and get them to a veterinarian.
