Cheap Flea Treatments
August 1, 2008 by pet-admin

Flea infestation on animals can cause anemia especially to baby animals. It can also cause a spread of tapeworm if not treated properly. Tapeworms can even transfer from dogs to humans. So to get rid of the fleas, one must find a cheap flea treatment to ensure that all people can properly care for their pets without spending a lot of money.
There are many cheap flea treatments on the market, with the cheapest being simply soap and water. Some may say that they bathe their pets regularly with soap and water and it does not seem to work. Well, it really works when done correctly. You have to have lukewarm water with soap and wash your dogs thoroughly. The fatty acids in the soap will kill fleas immediately. If you pet is flea-infested at its maximum level, it may take a couple of baths to achieve a flea-free pet. Just be patient and take your time in washing your pet. Make sure that the soap and water seeps deeply into the fur and not just over the top layer.
While treating your pets, you may want to wash your pet’s clothes, if they have any, with soap and water to rid it of fleas. Sometimes the cause of fleas are in their environment, so you have to make sure that their environment is clean and flea-free. This will ensure that the parasites would be seeing the fur anytime soon. The area where they stay and sleep should be brushed and washed thoroughly and often. Spray insecticides in all of your furniture and beddings after an infestation to protect you and your pets from these parasites.
The most difficult part of this process is the getting rid of fleas permanently. Unfortunately, fleas will not stop multiplying and can spread like crazy. But once the fleas are dead, maintaining a flea-free pet is easy enough. Just bath your pet with soap and water regularly and wash their linens, in what else, soap and water. Who ever thought that soap and water could be this useful?
