QUESTION:

Can I give Ibuprofen to a 70lb dog. She is having swelling and muscle spasms
in her neck area and can’t lift her head.

ANSWER:

Dear,

Using Ibuprofen for your dog may have some unpleasant effects that you must know in advance. The dose for dogs is 5 mg/kg body weight. Prolonged use at this dosage may cause gastric ulcers and perforations, GI hemorrhage and renal damage.

Having this information you can use ibuprofen at that dosage, but if only your vet approved it after he diagnosed inflammation in muscles and joints of the neck.
