Bichon Frise, Bichon also known as Pico, is a breed of dog small company, noted for its white fur and fluffy. It is characterized as a dog happy, active and tireless.
The Bichon Frise is a dog of European origin, descended from Maltese or Water Spaniel. The name “Bichon” is actually short for “Barbet” which in turn is short for “Barbichon” It is estimated that this breed is of French origin, although it is likely to be of Spanish origin in the Mediterranean area. It says it was one of the pet dogs of the French and Spanish courts. He was taken by the Spanish Canary Islands, where he acquired the name Bichon Tenerife. The popularity of this race can be seen reflected in paintings by Spanish artists, including Francisco de Goya .
After the French Revolution , the bichon was moved from the court’s attention as he could survive on the streets of French cities and towns. In that way, great strength genetics of race, because only the healthiest and robust managed to endure. But their beauty and disposition is such that eventually was accepted by the general public. In the 1930′s, several French farmers settled the race, which was recorded in the dog club France in 1934.
