QUESTION:

My boston is arching her back, looks like she is stretching and then dragging her hind legs behind her while crawling or pulling herself around on the bed. She seems uncomfortable – her ears are back and typically they are not. She is up to date on her shot and take the preventive flea drops once a month between shoulder blades and also heart worm. I do not live in a wooded area. I noticed this behavior tonight – prior to that she seemed fine

ANSWER

Dear,

As first examine blood – CBC and urine. Examine urine for presence of bacteria.
Make sure she’s not in estrus.
Make ultrasonography of the kidneys and the bladder.
Make x-rays on hip joints for hip dysplasia (this must be done by specialist).
Specialist should make neurological examination.
