My older shitzu is in great health, but his right eye is getting cloudy and seems to have surface irregularities – the vet said it is not cadaracts. Any ideas?

Dear,

It is hard to say from this point of view, especially when there isn’t a photo available. It might be an inflammation of the cornea in which case there will be presence of extra tears. It might be injury in which case sill have excess tears also. It might be senile problem.

My suggestion is to visit some veterinary ophthalmologist at some veterinary hospital or nearest veterinary faculty.

Benedryl, venision and potato dog food

QUESTION:

My dog suffers with ear problems, Ive taken her to 2 different vets and they
all say the same thing, Give Benedryle 2 to 3 times daily and Venision and
potato dog food… IT”S NOT WOKING.. Please help me help her she’s
miserable.. wat can I do to give her allergie relief???

Dear,

First of all you must be shure if your dog suffers from allergy.
Did the vets make tests for other diseases of the ear-mange, bacteria, mycoses, foreign body…?
Allergies response to treatment of antihistaminics or corticosteroids.
Please ask veterinarian to examine your dog ears on mentioned diseases, because if the therapy doesn’t work, it is sure that is not the right therapy. Microscopic examination of smear taken from ear canal gives precise diagnose.
